Slacker

erratic_prophet | 31 October, 2005 19:33

That'd be me. I've been a total slacker with this blog lately. I haven't had much to write about. Not a whole post's worth, anyway. More randomness...

  • I still don't know who won the pumpkin contest. I'm a wee bit annoyed by this. The higher-ups at work are bigger slackers than I.
  • I'm determined to get a hair cut this week. I haven't had one since the beginning of the year, I believe, and I'm way overdue. I will hurt anyone trying to get in my way.

Addictions Galore

erratic_prophet | 25 October, 2005 17:25

Too busy playing this to even think up a post.

And when I'm not playing that, I'm reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I'm nearly half way through it and horribly curious about what will come next.

Guess what I'll be doing the rest of tonight and tomorrow?

The Pumpkin

erratic_prophet | 24 October, 2005 11:15

There are few people who can actually claim to get paid for drawing on a pumpkin, but I am one of them..

I show up for work on Saturday and one of my coworkers runs over to me. She looks flustered, frazzled, etc. and asks, "Can you draw?!" I tell her, "Yeah, sort of." and she drags me over to our manager with, "R will make the pumpkin! I will do fitting room!" and runs off.

The Long Walk Home

erratic_prophet | 21 October, 2005 20:19

Earlier today-- much earlier-- The Girl walked home from school, for the first time, by herself. It'd been a long time coming. She'd been whining and begging for weeks about it. Finally, I caved in.

Mom didn't look pleased.

The Boy didn't care as long as he didn't have to walk anywhere.

Crazy Cat Lady In Training

erratic_prophet | 21 October, 2005 14:45

Many wonder why I have no urge to date anymore. Many wonder why I've given up and decided to become the neighborhood Crazy Cat Lady (but with only one cat). Let me tell you about last night at work... (More)

Random Bullets

erratic_prophet | 19 October, 2005 10:42

  • I'm still sick. I know, it's been going on forever. I finally broke down and made a Dr.'s appointment. It's stupid work's stupid fault. Everyone's passing around this damn cold.
  • I'm feeling horribly guilty about missing the dinner party thrown together by my cousin's new bride. It wasn't even my fault that I missed it, but my mom made a comment about how she must think we're horrible snobs and then I felt bad. Because, although I am a horrible snob, I didn't mean to be one with her. That can wait a few years. So I'm making a horribly, sinfully rich cake to suck up and bringing it to...
  • My uncle's dinner party this weekend. I'm working the whole weekend, so the planner's jam-packed with people and events. For some odd reason, we're also bringing a turkey to this dinner party. I'm working all day and then heading on over there because: they actually gave me more than a few hours notice on it and it's in being done in honor of my cousin's new bride.

The Boy: "Mom! Look!" Points vaguely near nose.

Me: "Umm.. What am I looking at or for?"

The Boy: "Here!" Points near lip.

Me: "...I still don't know.."

The Boy: Sighs and points near nose again.

Me: "Your nose? Your lip? What?"

Good and Bad

erratic_prophet | 14 October, 2005 21:45

The Good:

  • The chocolate cake my mommy made me for my birthday.
  • I think I'm almost completely over my head cold now.
  • Apparently, a really cute guy was totally flirting with me at work tonight.
  • Caffeine. Caffeine good.
  • I don't have to work for the next 4 days.
  • That means: I'm so sleeping in this weekend.
  • I think I've lost more weight because..
  • I fit into my really, super skinny pants that I couldn't even fit into back when I bought them.

Happy Columbus Day!

erratic_prophet | 12 October, 2005 10:40

When I was little, I'd tell everyone that my birthday was a little known national holiday. They'd scoff. Many wondered just how spoiled I was to make such a claim. But it's the truth: My birthday is a little known national holiday. It's Columbus Day.

And, no, it's not celebrated on a Monday each year.

Optimistic Resignation

erratic_prophet | 09 October, 2005 20:13

I'm going to be 30 soon.

This fact used to disturb me a lot more than I'd care to admit. I don't know why, really, since I don't think it's old or anything. But it's a big number. A milestone. The beginning of a new era. It's also intimidating as hell.

J: LIES.
Me: I shit you not.
J: it's the end of the world.
Me: There's another horseman.

Mother of All Musical Memes

Stolen from Mary via Michelle..

Directions: Go find your year of high school graduation (scroll all the way down the page), click it and copy/paste the list of songs to your blog.
Bold the songs you loved, italicize the ones you hated, underline the ones you don't remember, and leave the rest alone.

Simple, right?

No, Seriously, I'm Not Dead

erratic_prophet | 03 October, 2005 19:53

But I have a really good excuse!

Sort of..

I was working. A lot. And when I wasn't working, I was running errands. Lots of errands. And then there were appointments. Luckily, there aren't so many errands and appointments anymore. And I had the day off work today.

I actually got to take a nap! But that was because I felt all icky from the sinus infection I'm trying to lose.

Since I can't end things on that depressing note, here are two things I've been playing lately: Star Chemistry and Email Roulette.
